Debra Gayle Blink, 46, Westfield, peacefully went to heaven on December 24, 2014 following a valiant 44 month battle with colon cancer. Born June 23, 1968 in Royal Oak, Michigan, she was the daughter of Donald and Janice Blink, Westfield. Her parents survive. Other survivors include her son, David A. Williamson and grandchildren, Mylee Grace and Chase Andrew Williamson of Kentwood, Michigan; her sisters, Donell M. (Larry) Elsner of Martinsville and Deanne E. (Tony) Black of Yorktown; 4 nephews, 4 nieces and her beloved Yorkie, Georgia.

Debbie graduated from Yorktown High School in 1986 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University in 1991. She participated in the marching band color guard at both schools and was a member of Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed assisting as a color guard instructor at various high schools for many years.

Debbie was employed for 20 years at Meridian Mutual/State Auto Insurance Company as an Underwriter and Systems Analyst. She also worked part-time with Unified Dance at Lucas Oil Stadium, Victory Field and Bankers Life Fieldhouse. She attended Radiant Christian Life Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Her son and grandchildren were the very sunshine of her life. Her greatest joy was their time spent together. Debbie also valued her close relationship with her nieces and nephews whom she supported in all their activities and endeavors and inspired them with her favorite bible verse, Joshua 1:9.
Funeral services will be at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis 46250 on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be on Monday, December 29 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday from Noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gathering Together, 147 N. Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168. Online condolences may be made at www.indianafuneralcare.com.
The family would like to thank Debbie’s caregivers at the St. Vincent Cancer Care Center and St. Vincent Hospice.

My deepest sympathies to all the family. I met Debbie because of her friendship with my daughter. Although I never really knew her, I felt as though I did because of Marni’s love for her friend. During this long battle I have prayed for Debbie and for all of you. I know that Debbie is at “home” with her Lord and I give praise for that and that she is no longer in pain. You, will be in my prayers for comfort as you adjust to life without Debbie’s physical presence, no doubt you will “feel” her love and presence until you meet a again..

Don and Janice, although we had a brief dinner together in Alexandria, VA with Debbie, I knew instantly why she was so special. I am so sorry for your loss. What a bright Star. I am thrilled to have known Debbie. So glad for spending the summer of ’88 with her. So honored to know her laugh and so sorry for not being able to see her in the last few months. To the family of Debbie,
Please accept our sincere condolences upon the passing of such a wonderful person. We were part of the dance family that Debbie so loved and got to know her through that window of her life.. She was always so friendly and kind and her smile will live happily in my memory forever. I am not sure how Megan and Deanne will ever fill the enormous void of not having Aunt Debbie right there for them. Debbie, you have been a great example of how people should treat others. You have undoubtedly earned a special place in heaven.

Dear Don and Janice ~ We and our family send our deepest condolences on your loss of Debbie. We just happened to notice it via Facebook, and could hardly believe what we were reading. We remember Debbie as a beautiful and vivacious young lady through her high school years. You may recall (we certainly do!) that Debbie was our oldest son’s (Drew) first babysitter when we all lived in Yorktown. If you ever would wish to reconnect, we would count it a privilege. May the Light of the World continue to lead you through this journey.
